Cheers, Dave When I flew into Adak, Alaska, in 1964 aboard a Reeves Aleutian Airlines Electra, we came in sideways. I was sitting at a window seat and looked down the runway as we came in. The guy next to me kept on say, "Oh, God, oh God." I don't know whether it helped or not, but we landed safely. I had already crashed twice in military aircraft, so I wasn't too concerned. NOT! I remember it clearly, even though I was there back in 2000. They sell
T-shirts proclaiming "I Survived the Saba Landing". It looks more frightening than it is, though. The Twin Otter has at least 25 metres to spare after coming to a stop.
