On 02May 1986, the following pilots completed a 1362.68 KM triangle:
Karl H. Striedieck - ASW 20 John C. Seymour - ASW20 Robert L. Robertson - Ventus Thomas L. Knauff - Nimbus 3 Leonard Roy McMaster - ASW 20 All except Thomas Knauff flew together. I'm looking for the write up of this flight that I once read, written by all pilots. It is one of the most interesting and best written stories I've read and I can't find a copy of it, since someone in my office took off with mine. If anyone has info on where I can get a copy, I'd be appreciative. I can't even remember which issue of Soaring it was in or who gets credit for writing it. Thanks |

You might also enjoy picking up a copy of Ed Kilbourne's music CD which
contains the song "Ridge Runners", which IIRC, was inspired by the group you mention. If you google the Soaring Magazine Archive, you will find the following, which should be the article you seek. Robertson, Robbie; with Karl Striedeick, John Seymour and Roy McMaster Four on the Floor [Techniques\Cross Country Soaring; Awards\Records and Record Flights], November, 1986, page 16 Regards and happy soaring! Thanks Mike,
I found the article in the archive, but how do I get copy? It was published in the November 1986 edition of Soaring Magazine. |

I have all the notes from the flight, from the time of take-off until
landing. My father was Robert Robertsons best friend and he crewed for him until the accident in late 1986. Regards, Roderick |

Great flights well documented by great pilots. Wish it could be reprinted. Jim |
