Default Gathering of Mustangs

Hey guys WHAT A SHOW!!! Two of my sons and my grandson went to the gathering of
Mustangs show last week end at Rickenbacker airport in Columbus OH. Haven't
heard the official count yet but I heard there were over 100 P-51's there.
Totally awesome to see 24 51's flying in formation .Later there were 2 p-47's a
P-63 a B-17 a couple of B-25's , a P-38 and a Lancaster all flying. It was a
thrill of a lifetime to be there.
After years of attending airshows one can get jaded a bit but between all those
warbirds and the T birds and the F-22 I had goosebumps .Most fun we had in a
long time.

I asked my grandson who is 7 if he was having fun and he said yes I asked him if
he liked the propeller planes or the jets better. He said I like them all when
their noisy!! He went home with 7 model planes and a belly full of noise.

My son is a photographer and he took a herd of pictures if your interested
here's his website where you can see some.Enjoy ....we did.

The final count was 76 Mustangs, I worked the ramp parking and moving
them to the run up areas. Great show, beautiful historic aircraft,
wonderful stories of the men who flew them.
