Is it possible not to use yEnc in the future, so everybody can enjoy your pictures Thanks, Willem That was JPEG. yEnc in the compression scheme that is used to make files smaller when they are transmitted over the Internet, and can be applied to any large digital file, including music files such as mp3, flac, etc. JPEG, GIF, etc., and schemes for compression picture files. A JPEG is a JPEG, whether it's yEnced or not. Iım not a fan of yEnc, but it's been here for a while and is fairly common, so any newsreader program worth it's salt should decode it. Mine does with absolutely no difficulty. Apparently Internet Express has trouble with it. Can't the geniuses at Microsoft fix this over their lunch hour? Dave |

Is it possible not to use yEnc in the future, so everybody can enjoy your pictures Everyone can enjoy the picture since yenc decoders are readily available for free. We *know* we can, but that doesn't mean we *want* or even *have* to. Many times before people have asked to have binaries posted to ABPA in a plain readily downloadable format, that everybody can read out of the box, so ABPA remains as open as possible. yEnc-ers are smart. I mean: you managed to figure yEnc out, so you're obviously not stupid. The requests of the general population to not use yEnc should be a piece of cake for you then, right? :-) Ron -- Non urinat in ventum |
