Hi,
Details on the new LX8000 are now available on the LX web site he http://www.lxnavigation.si/avionics/products/lx8000.cfm It looks like a very interesting product. I will have a demo in my booth at the SSA Convention. I have started a waiting list, so let me know if you want to get on the list. It is not scheduled to be available for sale until February. Looks interesting.
Is the interface similar to SeeYou mobile? I looks like it and I understand there is some level of collaboration between LX and Naviter. They talk about hardware upgrades - have they set pricing for that? 9B |

Hi,
The LX8000 does not have a touch-screen, so my best guess is that the user interface will be very, very similar to the LX7007 Pro IGC interface - not like SeeYou Mobile. Hardware upgrades will be available for LX7000 and LX7007, but pricing has not been determined yet. The small vario unit will not need to be replaced. One very cool feature of the unit is that it has an SD card slot on the front of the unit - to make it easy to transfer flight logs, etc. I will be adding it to my web site very soon and giving an overview of it in my upcoming newsletter. You can sign-up for the newsletter he http://www.cumulus-soaring.com/newsletters.htm. At this time, the estimated market price is: 3820 Euro or about $5595 US. I believe that price includes FLARM functionality, but I'm not certain. It will be very interesting to see how it looks in sunlight. It will also be interesting to see whether the LX7007 Pro IGC units will continue to sell. The grey-scale screen on the LX7007 is awesome in sunlight. I have one in stock for $4450.
