Is there any flight planning software that will allow you to:
Load YOUR waypoint file, Then Display it graphically on the screen (map overlay showing SUA's would be nice) Then Pick waypoints (by clicking on them, not making text entries!) OUTPUT: total distance in (pick your units) , distance of each leg, and percentage of the total distance for each leg. Optionally, allow un-picking any giving waypoint and picking another. Generating a task to send to your flight recorder when you're satisfied with the result. I have to admit I've only played with See You a little, and really nothing else. |

It also stores the tasks, so that you can select that task again in the future. Once you select a start point and first TP, it displays the area (by shading it) that allows for FAI triangles, etc. It communicates with your flight recorder to pass declaration, turnpoints, common tasks, and also retrieves flight tracks. Very graphical, very simple. I've used it with a Volkslogger since '95. (It also communicates with Pocket StrePla, and passes maps, airspace, turnpoints, tasks with my IPAQ 3950. They're at www.strepla.de |

Hi,
Both SeeYou and StrePla do that extremely well. For SeeYou, you can see how it works in my free online training videos he http://www.cumulus-soaring.com/train...raining-SeeYou Best Regards, Paul Remde Cumulus Soaring, Inc. That's a decent description of how I edit my tasks in SeeYou.
Use Ctrl-T to go into [Tasks] editing, click the green + in the tool buttons bar to add a task, and use View | Map (or Alt-1) to edit the task using clicks and drags on the map. There is a small learning curve to it but it's very easy once you get the hang of it. 2NO |

Thanks again! |

There is a free TaskPlanner written by one of our members. To to http://www.houstonsoaring.org then Members/Downloads and then download the TaskPlanner. You can import any tp file in the Cambridge format. It has lots of options for which tps to show based on distance, etc. It displays a map and then you just click on the tps and it calculates the distance and FAI triangle angles. When you import your tps, just go to Edit/Add tps and make sure your home gliderport is marked as home and then it shows up as red, but you can start from any point if you wish.
