I'm sure Glenn will let us know how he did it. I suspect it has to do with
the lens used and his position on the field. Check out this Dakota, the
write-up tells how he got it.

My comment was based on the apparent angle of climb, which I don't
think has been exaggerated too much by the camera and/or lens. In
your Texas example the pilot went to a lot of trouble using zoom
momentum to achieve a near vertical attitude for a few secs before the
speed bled off. The Kiwi one seems to be at about 30 deg attitude,
which is reasonably easy to achieve - but you can't hold that for long
even at full power with a near-empty aircraft.

Makes a spectacular shot, though!
