So after a long wait, I finally received my new custom sewed canopy
cover made by a local seamstress. It's long, white and pointy as it fits right around the nose. I gave them the old canopy cover 6 months ago that was torn and faded, to be used as a templet. My only instructions were "make another one exactly like this." There were no emblems on it at all. Nothing resembled anything aviation related. So you can imagine, thoughts might run wild of what it might be. Especially in Mississippi, the only state to not change it's flag from the Redneck Confederate emblems. Turns out when I picked it up today......... they thought it was a conical hat for a KKK uniform!!! We laughed and laughed when I explained it was for a glider! No wonder why it took nearly 6 months to get it done, it had been pushed to the back of the waiting list for a legitimet reason! |

I can remember when they would have done it in a day if they had to put somebody on overtime...;-) rj |
