Churchill When I first glanced at you pictures, I had to double check to see where you had captured them. Last August, they were at the Warbirds over the midwest fly-in at Wellnitz field, just south of Fond du Lac, Wi. If you would like, take a hop over to my flickr page: http://www.flickr.com/photos/1095558...7627590269842/ and check out my photos from that weekend - it includes the same B29 and x-1 in action. Nice images Michael |

Nice images Michael Thanks Michael. I checked out your pictures and was impressed. I had to do a double take on some of them to realise that they were actually models and not full size. Cheers, Indrek Aavisto Thank you for taking a look. Some of those modelers paid a great amount of attention to detail. (also paid a lot of money, period) Michael |

Presumably you are the cool dude standing on the wing root. Cheers, Indrek Aavisto The plane in the foreground is a Johnson Rocket 185, of which more than 500 were sold and 17 built, in 1946. When Fertile Myrtle was in Oakland, CA, I flew over and took some pictures. Fertile Myrtle was the drop plane for many of the X-series at Edwards. The last I heard, Kermit Weeks had added it to his collection, but I think that it was damaged in a hurricane about 20 years ago. If anybody has more info, please post. |
