another advantage of land-based aviation over carrier aviation. Would it not? BRBR You seem to be stuck in a WWll mentality, with the 8th AF, with 1000+ bomber fleets participating in scortched earth missions.. USAF TacAir doesn't have loooong legs, when compared to USN TacAir assets. USAF TacAir 'can't get there from here' unless forward deployed, which takes time and money. P. C. Chisholm CDR, USN(ret.)
