Well, they'll be moving them out of the building shortly. For a full motion
setup, you'll need roughly 30x40 footprint with 20 foot ceilings. OBTW, the computers are early 70's DEC technology. While the console operation is straightforward, working with the hardware requires some knowledge of octal IIRC. You're right, the A-4 final update (stand-alone vice 4 to a deck) would fit in a garage. A much more user friendly system as well, both for the techies and the operator. BRBR I still think, with lots of $, clipped wings, better electrics, new engines, single seat cockpit, it would be a great unlimited air racer. Great little jet. In VF-126, when used for OOC/Stall training for Turkey crews, it took a beating and kept on ticking. I'd like to get one of the cockpit procedure trainers that they'll be getting rid of, and put it in the TV room. With a bigger garage, maybe the full motion sim. Actually, the A-4 sim wasn't that big. That'd fit in the garage. |
