I was wondering how much weight taking off the wheel pants would gain
me for cargo? I have a 1979 C152 with wheel pants and need to be able
to carry a little more weight. I've heard around 18 pounds, but does
anyone know for sure?

PatW (a new pilot and owner)

The W&B for my 78 152 says 18 pounds for the "speed fairings" Ha!

The POH page ii (right in the front, Performance Specifications), says 2
knots gain with fairings installed.
