Today's TAF: EGLF 080910Z 081019 17015G27KT 7000 RA SCT006 BKN012 TEMPO 0912 18025G42KT PROB40 TEMPO 0712 3500 RADZ +RA BKN006 BECMG 1213 22017G30KT 9999 NSW SCT015 PROB30 TEMPO 1319 6000 SHRA EGLF = Farnborough, nearest field to here with weather reporting. Just getting started? Bah. Last winter I managed just over 4 hours, from the 6 month inspection in October to the annual in April. Feels a bit of a waste doing an oil and filter change having flown only 4 hours. Even when it is flyable it damages the (grass) runway, gets mud all over the underside of the wings, and if landing downhill (into the prevailing wind...too shallow the other way with a good tailwind to hit the start of the shortish runway) you might not be able to stop.
