I thought it might be APEX. I bought my Taylorcraft from a fellow who has
a hangar there. 2.5 years ago the sub base (Bangor) had effectively
confiscated part of their strip by extending a no-fly zone into the first
500' or so of the runway. The navy was pretty heavy handed - there was
talk of installing cameras to catch air-space "violators" and other such
nonsense. A go-around could be pretty white-knuckled to stay out of
"their" airspace.

At that time it was a one-way strip - arriving and departing from the south
(ish) . There is a nice big hump in the runway so you need to taxi half-
way down and have a look-see, do a run-up, then back to the other end for
take-off.
