Parliament & the Governor-General exercise the Queen of Canada's authority on a day-to-day basis, but it is (again, in theory) her authority, not theirs... At least we don't have a Texan moron in charge! No...you have Canadian morons in charge...and they're doing a fabulous job of screwing it up even worse than our Texican is doing.
