After two previous cancellations due to xwind, I took my friend for a night
flight over Reno last night. Thunderstorms from earlier moved over the sierra. Wind was extremetly calm, no bumps. Good moon, but lots of cloud cover. Beautiful flight into Reno from Minden and finished it off with a perfect landing. Asked Clearance if we could do some sightseeing around downtown before departing for Minden. The casinos are pretty cool at night, all lit up. As a bonus (unforntunate, but still pretty cool to see) there was a big wildfire west of Reno in Verdi. That was pretty cool to see from the air at night. After circling the casinos a couple of times, we headed back to Minden. Did a couple full stop landings (to stay current) and called it a night. All in all, I REALLY enjoy night flying. It is really relaxing for some reason. Adam |
