Charlie Minner fell while on the way to the SSA Convention in Atlanta and
broke his femur above the knee. An operation to install a plate was successful and the doctors say he can expect about a four-day stay in the hospital. He was in Big Springs, TX when the accident occurred and he was taken to the University Medical Center at Texas Tech in Lubbock. Scratch Lee, a tow pilot familiar to many US competition pilots, has been at the hospital watching over Charlie. Charlie has been a fan of sailplane racing for many years and his contributions to our sport have endeared him to the pilots and crews who admire his tenacity despite a life-long disability from polio. We're cheering for you "Lite"! Your fans |
