Missing Brake Parts on Cobra Trailer
My brakes have not worked on my Cobra trailer since I purchased it. It is probably 10 years old. I finally pulled the drums off and found all the internal parts missing. I assume that a previous owner went joy riding with the brake lever on. The brakes were probably burned up and then removed. I have no brake parts and corroded drums. I am looking for recommendations. Do I purchase parts and new drums or consider hanging a new axle with brakes under the trailer. Does anyone in the US still make axles with mechanical brakes? Should I convert the whole thing (axle and tongue) to hydraulic? Anyone every tackled this successfully? Thanks ** remove 55 to respond to email address directly ** |
