Does anyone know the current status of the former
Soviet aircraft carrier Kiev? It was supposed sold to a Korean company for scrapping, but was then bought by China. It has been undergoing refit as a museum and casino. The ship had a fatal fire in 2003, and that is the last I have heard of it. I am not talking about the Minsk, which is open as a museum, nor the Varyag (which is not Kiev class), nor the Kiev-class carrier that was just bought by India. This one I am looking for is hull number/project 1143.1, the first of the Kiev class that was actually called the Kiev. -john- -- ================================================== ==================== John A.
