The problem is not in WinPilot it is in the FAA records of airports.
If no one reports an airport closed it simply stays in the FAA data base for years. I flew at Hobbs, NM for twelve years and chartsw showed "Two Legs" private airport south of Denver City, TX but I could never see it from the air. Finaly I took an old local pilot with me and we drover to where it was susposed to be and there were no runways only some open fields, a house and a barn. I notified the FAA airport facilities section and on the next map printing they had removed it and from their computer data base also. WinPilot simply used the current FAA data base! BE nice and let the FAA know there is a problem and they will fix it. |
