Another sign-of-the-times...

Yesterday I displayed my glider at a large youth scouting event held at
the local airport. I spent the day seating kids in the cockpit,
answering questions, and of course trying to keep the glider in one
piece.

As usual there were a few kids that asked some very insightful
questions, but it was the comment of one that I found disturbing. One
young man casually stated that the glider did not seem to have a lot of
"protection". I was impressed that a young 10 year old would be so
aware and concerned about the crash worthiness of my glider. When
asked, "what do you need to be protected from?", he answered very
seriously, "snipers".

Another sign-of-the-times...
