Friends:
My club is beginning to explore the possibility of hiring a compensated, full or part time manager. I am interested in information from other clubs about the relationship between club size and the hiring of paid managers as I suspect that some clubs become too big and complex to be effectively run by an all volunteer staff. In our situation we have 165 members, 11 club gliders, 3 tugs and we support about 25 privately owned gliders for aero tows. We have no paid staff. A complicating factor is the inability to have maintenance done on site (all of our aircraft go to other locations for service or inspection). Kindly post information here about your club size (membership, fleet size, number of tugs, etc) and whether you have any paid staff. Thanks in advance. Roy Roy A.
