![]() "Big John" wrote in message ... WASHINGTON, Jan. 20 (UPI) -- Next month a new high-explosive munition will be fired in Singapore and then tested again by the U.S. Army, heralding what may be a sea change in weaponry: a gun that can fire 240,000 rounds per minute. That's 4000 rounds every second, kinda hard to believe. Also hard to imagine the need for such a rate and the magazine for such a weapon. That's compared to 60 rounds per minute in a standard military machine gun. One round per second in a standard military machine gun? That's a pretty low standard. Machine guns typically have much higher rates of fire than that, about ten times higher. |
