I spoke with one of the participant yesterday and this morning. On
Monday, they launched approximately 40 aircraft. Two made the task. The others landed out all over, with 11 landing out at one airfield, waiting for aerotows. As a front moved through, the winds changed and increased abruptly. I understand one of the participants released after a 5,000 tow and climbed in some shear to 13,000. That doesn't happen in Georgia! Tuesday was better with most of the field making at back. The clouds overdeveloped in the afternoon and several limped back or landed out. |
