Since there are several US flyers with naval aviation backgrounds on
this group, I thought I would post this just in case anyone here was affected but didn't get the word yet: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...070700945.html "Personal records for every Navy and Marine Corps aviator or aircrew member who has logged flight hours in the past 20 years have been posted on a public Navy Web site..." Your individual action is simple. You call the 1-800 number of any one of the credit bureaus and use the automated menus to put a "credit alert" on your file (using a touchtone phone helps). It literally takes a couple minutes. I bet the so-called whiz kids didn't have this in mind when they abolished service numbers for SSNs forty years ago! Going slightly off topic/related FYI, you can opt to not have your SSN on your FAA pilot's license. This takes a couple minutes on the FAA website. |
