For those who want advanced article screening, I suggest GNUS running
on Xemacs. This works on Windows, Macs, and Linux, is free, and not
hard to setup. For instance, I can ignore posts started by a given
author and *all followups* to those posts. Really makes Usenet
readable again. And Xemacs is an extremely versatile text editor for
those with a need for something beyond Notepad.

May I ask how you teach gnus this trick? I use gnus, but have not
delved that deeply into the documentation...
