Does anyone have a copy of the S&G report on the 1965
World Championship held at South Cerney in the UK? Markus Ritzie, of the Swiss Team, flew a Standard Elfe to second place in the Standard Class. I know he flew my Elfe S-2 (then registered HB-801 and carrying competition number 74), but I want to establish whether this was his practice aircraft, or the one that he flew in the competition. Martin Simons, in Sailplanes: 1965-2000, states that the aircraft had a V-tail. HB-801 has a conventional tail, with the tailplane at the base of the fin. I have a copy of the August 1965 issue of Soaring, but the report on the competition doesn't give the aircraft's identification. |
