(AP) CHICAGO - Dense fog and a low cloud ceiling forced airlines to
cancel more than 200 flights at Chicago's O'Hare International Airport on Friday at the start of the busy holiday travel season. Travelers also encountered weather-related delays at airports in the New York City area. ************************************************** *********** We had seven long-term guests at the hotel (who all work for the same company) trying to get home for Christmas yesterday. ALL of their flights were cancelled. Even though this article only talks about Chicago and New York, the effect of this widespread fog has rippled throughout the national airspace. The airline reps were telling our people that they were still trying to move people out of airports for flights that were cancelled on Thursday! From a GA standpoint, I sure wouldn't want to own an FBO. NOTHING is moving around here. (And now we've got a Winter Storm Warning for tonight...) Whoo-eee. I can hardly wait for winter. -- Jay Honeck Iowa City, IA Pathfinder N56993 www.AlexisParkInn.com "Your Aviation Destination" |
