Default Navigation problem

Here's a cute trivial problem I usually use to kill time with curious students.
There are places on the Earth where you can fly; 1 mile south, then 1 mile east (or west), and then 1 mile north, and end up in the same place. One of these places is the north pole. Where are the others?
