Default Airstart reliability

I’m into my fourth season with my ASH-26E, have only had to give
myself a relight a few times and the engine started right away, I also
don’t count on it to start and have a place to land in case of silence
after hitting the starter button.

Haven’t used it for a self-retrieve yet, a couple of years ago
couldn’t make it home before sunset and landed short at a nice airport
that had no towplane. Stayed in a motel and self-launched the next
day. Nice to have a gas powered machine as all I had to do is get a
little 100LL from the FBO and was on my way.
