Art: Touching...U are lucky to have such wonderful memories. And I must say, U
write about them vividly. Bob .................................................. ...................... ............................. Colonel Robert WItty was the commanding officer of the 344th bomb group. He led us into battle flying lead more than any other officer in the group. We stay in contact and is a regular visitor to my website. I value his presence since he verifies the accuracy of my memories. All of those who flew with the 344th revere his war record. aaand his leadership. He is a man that we were all proud to follow into battle.
