The Eagle Field Winch classes for Jul 18-19 and Sep 12 -13 each have an opening for pilots interested in training and endorsements for winch ground launching.
Although most of the pilots who've taken the course will probably not utilize the winch training at their club, the stick and rudder skills and unusual attitude training will add to a pilot's all around flying skill and confidence. Additionally, landings at Eagle Field are even more of a challenge for most pilots and require some of the techniques necessary in many difficult off-field landings: exact energy management, slopes, undulations and precise stopping (on an aluminum plate at the launch point so the glider can rotated and relaunched). There could be two slots available for the July class depending on whether one of the pilots (on reserve) has to fly a trip. Also, if there is sufficient response we will schedule an additional class Oct 3-4. Karl Striedieck karls at uplink.net or 814 237 7996 |
