SSA Convention invitation

Our Soaring Society of America (SSA) Convention is just over a month away, FEB 17 - 20 in Greenville, South Carolina. Meet legends of aviation, racing pilots, designers, flight instructors, eager young student pilots and bunch of nice folks from around the world. (For me, our biennial SSA Convention is about renewing friendships and making new friends.)

For glider instructors (or wannabes) a FAA approved Flight Instructor Refresher Course (FIRC) will be held Tuesday and Wednesday FEB 16 & 17. (Registration required.)

Then the SSA Convention begins with the Soaring Safety Foundation (SSF) Seminar on Wednesday, FEB 17 at 6 PM in the Hilton Hotel.

Thursday through Saturday, see dozens of the newest sailplanes and beautifully restored vintage gliders in the Convention Center exhibit hall. Learn about the latest flight instruments, glider simulators, videos and cool stuff from aviation and soaring vendors. Fascinating one-hour seminars all day long, evening social activities and the SSA Awards Banquet on Saturday night, FEB 20.

I'll be flying into Atlanta to visit friends then driving my rent car east to Greenville -- just 2 hours. So don't miss our "gathering of the tribe."
