Default B-24 Liberator [7/7] - U-S-Air-Force-C-45-wreck.jpg (1/1)

My father wound up being a B-24 flight instructor in the early 40s. After
graduating from flight school, he developed rheumatic fever and was deemed unfit
for combat. They were so desperate for pilots that they kept him on flight
status anyway but only as an instructor.

He remained on flight status until he had a heart attack and retired about 20
years later (with over 10,000 hours flying C-47s and C-45s) from the Air Force.
