It looks like a very early (civil war or soon after) machine gun. I wish
there was a picture of the other side so that we could see if it has a hand
crank. It probably does, though.


You talking about a Gatling Gun?


It certainly isn't a Gatling, which had four (five?) or more
barrels which rotated. This one has two barrels side by side.
I rather suspect it might be a Gardner gun (which replaced
the Gatling in British service).
