I don't know that it was the best looking but damn I loved flying in it,
especially in thunderstorms. Those wimps on rollercoasters don't know what
real fun is. My first time ever to fly was in a DC-3 over central Texas during
a bad thunderstorm. I loved it and was hooked on flying from then on. Damn
what a rush!

Historically significant, perhaps (to put it mildly).
But good-looking, much less *best* looking?

Personally, I'd go with the Concorde, hands down.
If there's an "Other Than the Concorde" category,
my nomination would be the VC10.

Just to go to the OTHER extreme: WHAI is/was the "b-tt ugliest" airliner?

Hands down, the Breguet Deux Ponts/Sahara.

(Scroll down; there are several photos.)
