In a word, housing. Staying at Marion College this year. I know, I
know...we're wimps. Real pilots camp at OSH, right? :-) Given that Dad is coming with us this year though, we thought he'd be more comfortable in the dorms. Heck, we even paid the extra $5/day for A/C (yes, now we're really truly wimps...). I will miss camping at OSH though. There's nothing quite like the rain/wind/lightning/sleeping in the plane/always having something wet to dry out/daily runs to the Pigly Wigly/etc. -- Jack Allison PP-ASEL "When once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the Earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return" - Leonardo Da Vinci (Remove the obvious from address to reply via e-mail) |

Ewhhhh!!!
You might just as well stay at an Inn in Iowa and commute every day. Hey -- now THAT would be cool. Sleeping in a deluxe aviation theme suite, lounging in your jacuzzi after a long day on the flight line, wouldn't be too hard to take. But you'd better have a fast plane. But a *dorm*? Yuck. -- Jay Honeck Iowa City, IA Pathfinder N56993 www.AlexisParkInn.com "Your Aviation Destination" |

Do I even *know* you?
Wow, you fly clear across the country, only to stop short of OSH -- and sleep in a dorm room? Ya, some people do the darndest things, don't they? Especially (borrowing a term from Jim W.) us left coasters. I know Jay, there's no valid excuse. I throw myself at the mercy of the official OSH beer pooh-bah and beg forgiveness. Er, in other words, I guess this means I need to bring extra "good beer" to the official gathering. -- Jack Allison PP-ASEL "When once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the Earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return" - Leonardo Da Vinci (Remove the obvious from address to reply via e-mail) |

The Aviation Gods would ream me a new one if I didn't admit that Gordon Baxter taught me that phrase. Hmmm, wouldn't want that Jim. Thx. for the clarification, nice to know the
source. Speaking of dorms at OSH, where are you staying this year? -- Jack Allison PP-ASEL "When once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the Earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return" - Leonardo Da Vinci (Remove the obvious from address to reply via e-mail) |
