I believe Chris that Jim is taking a friendly jab at the University of
Michigan, being as he is a Buckeye fan. Of course I think that the best
thing that happened with Ohio St football was when Woody Hayes knocked the
crap out of the Clemson player. Being a Georgia Dawg from my Dad's side and
a Carolina Gamecock on Mom's , I just have to hate Clemson.....sorta like
Jim hates Michigan

Ann Arbor? Isn't that where they insert the hose, when the United States
gets an enima? Bfg

Huh?

What makes you think that was a "friendly " jab? ;-)

Yep. I was there, in the band, at the time. We refer to that as the
"Punch" bowl. g

Yep,
To my Uncle in Gaffney SC ,Woody Hayes will always be his hero for knocking
the crap out of "The Palestine Heathen" Clemson player. So you were in
the Buckeye band, pretty cool, what did you play? I played sax in high
school. Got tired of the whole marching band thing and picked up a guitar
instead .

I have sat and eaten lunch with Woody a couple times, in the campus Wendys.
When he saw someone with a band jacket on, he would go out of his way to
talk to them. He was pretty cool.

The last year or so, he was getting senile, I think. I could tell from our
chats. Losing your temper out of charater is one of the symptoms. Too bad
he didn't retire before that game.

So you were in

Baritone horn. Being in the band was one of the coolest things I have ever
been a part of. Unbelievable memories!

When I was in HS marching band, I was always in awe of the script Ohio State
and always cheered the tuba (sousaphone?) player who got to "Dot the I".

We keep this up and we may have enough people to start a band from the
group!

I was actually a trombone player, in the OSU school of music. At the time,
Ohio State did not have slide trombones, only valve trombones. Baritones
are just about the same animal, and they needed Baritones, so I picked that
up.

I taught band a few years before becoming a building contractor, then a
carpentry teacher. Just a little change, right?

The "I dotter" is chosen from among the Sousaphone players, by pier votes.
It is quite an honor, and always the high point in a "tuba" players band
career.

Why is the pier voting, when Ohio State isn't even on a lake?
