Well, I have done it now. Sent of me hard earned for a set of Bearhawk
plans. I haven't built an aeroplane before let alone scratch building from plans, hopefully an enjoyable learning curve over the next several years....... Any other Bearhawk builders in the group? Ric |

Ric Bearhawk's a nice looking plane but man it doesn't look like an easy build...particularly for a first timer...I'd suggest you get right up close and friendly with your local EAA chapter... ....Ken |

To bad it doesn't fall into the light sport category , it is a sweet looking
plane . Just take your time and most definitely ASK questions from people that have more experience. You may even get lucky and find a few that would be willing to come over and help you some. Mostly will depend on the kind of EAA chapter you have locally. Congrads on getting your plans, and by all means let us know how things are coming along! The designer of the Bearhawk, Bob Barows designed a tandem (2 place)
version of the bearhawk called the patrol. Still not sport pilot, but he is working on a sport pilot version of the patrol, for 65-100hp. Expects to be finished in about a year. What surprises me is that nobody has plans for a side by side at sport pilot gross. There are a number of nice planes out there, such as the Highlander, but no plans builts! John |

I agree the Highlander is a nice plane as well, but I can't afford to go the
kit route. I'll look forward to the Bearhawk sport plane and even Van's RV-12 I think it will be called. I like the Zenith 701 as well but heard "not to good" reviews when you don't use the overpriced Rotax 912 in them. Patrick student SPL aircraft structural mech "John T" wrote in message ...
