Does anyone know of any more plans for a Discovery Wings-type channel?
It just seems like there would still be enough interest to support a TV channel devoted just to flying. Thoughts? |

DireTV was one of the big providers for that network, they switched to
"The Military Channel" about a year ago. It shows much of the same programming though. -Robert pilot451 wrote: Does anyone know of any more plans for a Discovery Wings-type channel? It just seems like there would still be enough interest to support a TV channel devoted just to flying. Thoughts? |

The only channel that still has aviation related stuff on it around here is
the "Outdoor Channel", go figure. It is an excellent weekly program called "Wings to Adventure". They have been on for a couple of seasons and have plans to produce DVD's of previous seasons. http://www.wingstoadventure.com/ David - KGYH "pilot451" wrote in message ps.com... Productions geared toward the flying community would be awesome but unfortunately, we're a small percentage of a fraction of a niche of the population. Jay Beckman PP-ASEL Chandler, AZ |

Not that Wings covered aviation very well anyway. If I ran a network named Wings I think I'd probably just move the whole damn operation to OSH once a year for the whole week of Airventure. |

There wasn't before; why does it seem so now? If there would have been more productions, enough productions, so that they didn't have to recycle the same shows month after month, there would have been a chance of it surviving, IMHO. To put it simply, they drove that channel into the ground, by not investing in new programming. It would not have been that hard to pull off, and the result of not keeping current was very predictable. How many here could sit and think of 50 new series titles and schemes, in the period of a couple hours? I know I could. -- Jim in NC |
