On Saturday Alex McCaw flew a 1000k task in blue wave at Omarama, NZ

A fantastic effort from the young man.

Being so young, he may be the only one to have ever done 1000k without
using a pee bag! Congrats Alex.

Hi Gang
I am at Omarama for a week flying a LS6. This is youth training week
here where various clubs converge here to promote soaring. The results
of some of the youngsters including Alex have been outstanding and I
am sure in the environment of Terry Delore and other world class
pilots these youngster are going to show us oldies a thing or two. The
only concern I have is that it appears to be a male only group of
youngsters.

I'd give him a medal for flying 11 hours without peeing!

Not sure about the make up of the course but Terry Delore's daughter is one of the organisers and the various Youth Glide efforts around New Zealand have a mix of both young men and women.

Gliders are boys toys, always have been, always will be.
As for other things, if sheep could drive.....
