Because the German disc and stealth connection to the United States
has remained unbroken for all these decades. No. The Luftwaffe has had a squadron assigned there since 1996. They're there for the same reason the F-117s are at Holloman and the Singapore AF is at Cannon AFB - access to range space. The fighter wings at both Holloman and Cannon need open space to train, and we have plenty of that here in New Mexico - White Sands near Holloman, and Melrose and Pecos ranges near Cannon. They have done training for years here, and it has nothing to do with UFOs..whoever said that sounds like a good candidate for Kook of the Month. Before that, they did F-104 training.
