No Updates to RAS?

Note that RAS = rec.aviation.soaring which is a Usenet network news
group (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Usenet). This group is visible
from *ANY* news reader of which there are many, such as the web based
one you mention http://groups.google.com/group/rec.aviation.soaring.
There are also standalone news reader applications (http://
usenetreviewz.com/best-usenet-clients/). This is somewhat similar to
reading email from a web based reader like http://gmail.google.com or
from a standalone client like Outlook.

So the problem is probably either with your news reader or with the
Internet source that you are downloading news from.
