I was very interested in the recent posts about using HD video cameras in soaring. Several examples were shot from what appeared to be behind the pilots right shoulder. Where and how is the camera mounted? Photos of the mount would be useful. I have done many videos with the GoPro some with the head mount kit from GoPro, some cup mounted externally on the wing or stab. Lately I have done most just holding the GoPro in one hand. The handheld results are usually pretty good. Suction cup on the flatter part of a canopy just above the rail opposite side of the vent. Gives a view of the panel and outside. I have an cheap old Chinese PNA that can be used to aim the GoPro, by hooking up the video out to the PNA input. The GoPro has such a wide angle of vision that after the initial setup it does not need to be used again, just attach about where it was last. Mike Any comments about internal mounting would be appreciated. Thanks, Jim - 77 |
