Steve Steve, My backup vario in my current and my last glider has been a Westerboer with pressure sensors like these: http://www.westerboer.de/Seiten/vw1000.html The one I have has a lovely tone - much nicer than Cambridge - and it indicates in absolute synchronicity with my Cambridge302. They both are on the same total energy probe. I prefer it when working really weak lift. They sold for about $500. Herb
