BTW:
Lots of really exciting new gliders approaching - anyone else who's as
curious as me about the new ASx-32 and ASx-33?

Cheers
Andreas

Anyone know if the ASH-30 is ever going to come off the drawing
board...? It seems the EB-28 and EB-29 have the "long wing" open
class locked up. The Antares/Nimbus (5?) shorter wing with reduced
wing area at 850kg may prove to be the right combination for Uvalde
2012.

Soon...

Schleicher is working on a nice module system at the moment.
The 32 will be the open-class single-seater version of the 30, and the
33 will be a combination of a slightly shorter 30 fuselage with a 20m
wing very similar to the 31.

I personally think that the wing of the 30 is a tad too bit, not
allowing high-enough wing loadings. But time will tell...

The Antares wing, stretched to 23m, with an aspect ratio of 38.5 and
max wingloading of 58kg/m2 (11.9 lb/ft2) ought to be unbeatable in
good hands at Uvalde.

Corollary to the question: anyone have an update on Dick Butler's
Concordia project? I seem to remember something about a 13lb+ wing
loading and 28m of wing...

Dick has closed the two inner wing panels, and he's
now back at work on Concordia after Hobbs and
a bit of fun flying (Hobbs was *not* fun). Concordia
is one amazing project !

See ya, Dave "YO electric"

In Szeged, Prof Loek Boermans said that the maximum wing loading of
the Concordia will be 62 kg/m2.

The name of the new "Nimbus 5" is Quintus!
