With a name like 'Nasir', I'd expect a little longer delay.

I passed my checkride over 2 months ago but have not received the plastic
license yet. Any idea how long it takes?

BTW, I did not mail anything to anyone..The D.E. told me she would be
sending the form in. Is that the norm?

thanks.

Nasir, I got my card almost 3 months to the day after my checkride.
My D.E. sent in the form, and my temp was a 120 day certificate. I
did notice that I was listed on the FAA pilot database information
page about two weeks before I got the card.

My card arrived a week and a half ago now. I've been told by local
examiners that the FAA's running about 90 days behind. I'm not sure
if different regions would have different delays though.

The thought has crossed my mind.

I checked their website as someone else pointed out, and I searched for
myself. My Student Pilot certificate shows up (basically my medical) on
their site but nothing about the PPL. I guess 2 months is not unusual and
its probably gonna take another month or so.

thanks for the reply!

Your DE or the local FSDO can give you a new temporary. Mine was
within a few days of expiring and the FSDO just gave me a new
(temporary) one. At the time it evidently was quite a common request.
My permanent one did actually show up before the original 120 days
were up, but just barely.

Wasn't that simple in my case. They won't send out a temporary certificate
just on the basis of my say-so on the telephone. Remember, neither the
FSDO nor OKC has any record of me taking the checkride! Nor, it now turns
out, does my DE. [At least he remembers it.]

Not on the phone. I walked into the FSDO with my temporary certificate and
they extended it for me.

Your log book should have your check ride date and examiners signature

Just so people don't get disappointed, you don't just "walk in" a FSDO
anymore since "9-11". You must call and get an appointment. Granted, there
are some that may let you in but not all of them.

HAPPY NEW YEAR,

Skyking
