Actually, we'd probably get better service for older (pre-DG800)
gliders, as well, if someone else took over support. In my dreams, it
would be Streifeneder...

Filling the holes, glass over the back and refinishing the front is also an option.

Carbon fiber may be a poor choice of material for a panel for a number of reasons.

With all the antennas in the cockpit these days such as transponder, Power Flarm, GPS for navigation, etc. it doesn’t make sense to have a panel made of RF blocking material such as carbon fiber.

Plain old fiberglass is a better choice as it doesn’t interfere with RF signals.
