Purchasing New Plane

Didn't mean to cause such a rukus over a simple question - I have the
means and fortitude, just asked for a little assistance. Guess my best
bet is, as we are living in the US for the next 3 years in Harrisburg,
is to find a someone locally who is willing to give "good" advice.

Definitely something less "elaborate" unless you have a good insurance
policy you are looking to cash out.

One concideration is that most people tend to want the fly the same
general type of aircraft they trained in, which is good thing for a
low time pilot.

If he is training in Pipers, the Archer is a good airplane.

If he is training in Cessnas, the 182 is a good airplane.

What is he getting his training in?

Have you thought of going on www.controller.com while he's around and
saying something like, "I didn't know there were so many different
airplanes. If we had one, which would you want?".

Wow. Do you have a sister? Is she single? :^)

Seriously, A Piper Saratoga is a bit much of an airplane for someone
who has just gotten their pilots license. I think you should be looking
at a Cessna 172, maybe a 182 or a Piper cherokee 180. The Saratoga is
a high performance complex airplane... I'd strongly recommend that your
husband get some expeiernce before jumping into sucha an airplane.

That is very sweet of you to think of that for him though... if things
