skylines.aero is integrating with the weglide platform in some way. You can see the developments at https://github.com/skylines-project/...e&type=commits

Sharing is the major reason I use the OLC; the logbook data is irrelevant to me, as I know what it is before I get out of the glider. -- Eric Greenwell - Washington State, USA (change ".netto" to ".us" to email me) - "A Guide to Self-Launching Sailplane Operation" https://sites.google.com/site/motorg...ad-the-guide-1 |

Nothing for you other than increasing your online footprint and giving some marketing company one more piece of the puzzle that makes up you so they can blast you with even more custom-tailored advertisement or even steal your identity. Yet another online flight sharing tool without logbook capability, at least not yet.
I hope they planning to provide online logbook capability, with summary, stats etc, in proper format to be exported and printed. the only one which had this capability was the paid subscription of crosscountry.aero but it is no longer working. Skylines does not provide this functionality. OLC does but it does not include all important parameters and does not provide summary and statistics, and the flight time is actually logger time and not flight time. not sure why it is so difficult to included a proper electronic logbook so one does not need to use excel or, god forbid, a paper logbook... Actually the “complain” is more towards the existing services and towards pilots for lack of requests for logbook support, and perhaps start a discussion on this so hopefully Weglide and others will listen. I am curious what other pilots using for electronic logbook to log all the important parameters of flights (duration, distance, altitude, takeoff, landing:etc) without having to manually enter the data. It should be in a format that can be downloaded to excel and printed so it can be used as official logbook. Ramy |

No flight download needed, it creates logs from OGN data. |

WiFi download of flights straight from LX computers again this summer? The presentation is very good, and I prefer it to the OLC presentation, but I think a bigger issue is we have too many places to send IGC files. I wish the sites would coordinate, so a flight posted on one would automatically post on the others, at the selection of the pilot. Perhaps, this could accomplished with a web site that accepts a flight log, then automatically uploads it to other sites that pilot has selected. That way, a pilot could make a single posting the goes to, say, four flight display sites. This might also fix the LXNav posting issue to OLC. -- Eric Greenwell - Washington State, USA (change ".netto" to ".us" to email me) - "A Guide to Self-Launching Sailplane Operation" https://sites.google.com/site/motorg...ad-the-guide-1 I am trying out WeGlide this season. Had my first flight yesterday. Posted my flight log to WeGlide last night. About 18 hours later I got an email from OLC Result Notifier about the same flight. How did that happen? I didn't post my flight to OLC, only to WeGlide. Are OLC copying flights from WeGlide to keep themselves looking relevant? Or are WeGlide uploading to OLC too? |
